10 Assurex Global Partners Named as Power Brokers by Risk & Insurance
Assurex Global, the world’s largest independent insurance brokerage group, announced ten brokers from AG Partner firms have been named to Risk & Insurance’s 2010 Power Broker list.
To make the decision on who would be designated a Risk & Insurance Power Broker, the publication looked at nearly 2500 brokers and enlisted the help of more than 300 risk managers. Brokers were judged primarily on their creativity in solving risk-related problems during 2003, their demonstrated industry knowledge and their high level of client service.
Two of this year's honorees from Assurex Global firms are repeat winners: Harry C. Wallace of Riggs, Counselman, Michaels & Downes (Bethesda, MD) was honored in the Pharmaceuticals category for the second year in a row, as was Dot Hedman of Roach Howard Smith & Barton (Dallas, TX) for the Public Sector category.

Finalists for the 2010 list included David Kohl of Roach Howard Smith & Barton -- Global; Joffre J. Cross II of Wortham -- Nonprofits; and Greg Morris of Woodruff-Sawyer & Co. -- Technology.
In addition to being selected as Power Brokers, two Assurex Global Partners received the "Responsibility Leader" designation, which honors those Power Broker winners who best exemplify the attributes of: Going above and beyond the call of duty in a way that benefits their clients, company and community. Doing the right thing over the easy thing. Encouraging young people to consider brokerage and insurance as a career.
