Assurex Global Names Robert J. Klonk Chairman of the Board and Elects New Board Member

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Assurex Global, the world’s largest privately held commercial insurance, risk management and employee benefits brokerage group, has announced the election of Robert J. Klonk as chairman of its board of directors. Klonk was elected to this role in conjunction with the 2020 Annual Shareholders Meeting on November 17, 2020. 

Klonk is chairman and chief executive officer of Oswald Companies, one of the nation’s largest privately held and employee-owned, insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firms. Klonk has more than 40 years of industry experience, previously serving as Oswald’s director of group benefits and president, before assuming the duties of chief executive officer in 2013 and chairman in 2020.  

In December 2020, Oswald Companies announced it strategic merger with Assurex Global Partner RCM&D, with Klonk, along with RCM&D President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Cawley, presiding over the newly formed union.

As the new chairman of Assurex Global, Klonk succeeds Andy Sloan of Toronto, Canada-based The Magnes Group. Sloan was elected to that post in 2018. 

In addition to Klonk’s appointment, Luke Proctor of The IMA Financial Group in Wichita, Kansas was elected to the Assurex Global Board of Directors.
